Question: what kind of fuel is the best for a 2002 chevy cavalier?

every time i put gas in my car the check engine light turns on so im guessing its the kind of gas that im putting in my car that makes the light turn on so i wanted to know witch gas brand is the best.

manufacturer recommends 87 octane if your not using that it might be getting codes for that or you dont crank gas cap enough i did that a few times now i give it a few good cranks
